Common questions
How much do I need for a down payment?
It depends on the loan type and your situation. Some programs allow a few percent down, and Maryland, Virginia and DC each offer first-time buyer assistance programs. A lender can show you the options; I’m happy to introduce you to one.
Do I sign an agreement with my agent?
Yes. Buyers now sign a written agreement with their agent before touring homes. It spells out the services and how the agent is paid, and compensation is negotiable. I’ll walk you through it before we start.
How long does it take to buy a home?
Once you have an accepted offer, closing usually takes about 30 to 45 days. The search itself can take a few weeks or a few months depending on the market and your criteria.
Can you help me buy in Maryland, Virginia and DC?
Yes. I’m licensed in all three, so you can compare areas across state lines with one agent.
