Brokerage relationship

Before we work together, you should know whom a real estate agent represents. Here is a short overview.

Agency disclosure

Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC each require real estate licensees to explain the type of relationship they have with you. In Maryland, this is done with the “Understanding Whom Real Estate Agents Represent” disclosure, presented at the first scheduled face-to-face meeting. Virginia and DC have their own required disclosures.

An agent can represent a seller, a buyer, or, with written consent from both parties, both sides of the same transaction. I will review the relevant forms with you and answer any questions before we begin.
